Under the coordination of the Batman Academic and Social Activities Association (BASAD) and in partnership with Batman, İnönü, and Siirt Universities, we successfully conducted the second activity of our European Union Erasmus+ KA154 Youth Participation project, Enhancing Digital Empathy Skills of Youth (Connect-Em), with the theme of “Values in the Digital World”. The event took place at the Hasankeyf Application Hotel from February 24 to 27, 2025.
About the Workshop
During the four-day workshop, we brought together 30 young participants from different regions of Turkey. The workshop featured activities designed to enhance young people’s understanding of cultural values and to foster their digital empathy skills.
Workshop Outcomes
Throughout the workshop, participants:
• Identified issues related to values in the digital world under the guidance of academics.
• Analyzed the identified key problems by employing discussion techniques to explore the different dimensions of values in the digital world.
• Strengthened their ability to evaluate topics from multiple perspectives.
• Gained awareness of values and ethical considerations in the digital world.
We extend our gratitude to Hasankeyf Application Hotel for hosting our workshop, to the esteemed academics from Batman University for their valuable contributions, and to all the young participants for their engagement.

Within the scope of our ongoing project, in the upcoming months:
• A workshop on “Digitalent: Social Media Usage” will be organized, hosted by İnönü University.
This project represents a significant step toward fostering digital empathy skills among young people and shaping youth policies on digital communication. The interactive nature of the workshop has provided participants with practical tools to communicate more empathetically in digital environments. The success of our project highlights the growing importance of digital empathy in today’s increasingly interconnected world.
