Overview:
“Safe Tomorrows” is a six-month inclusive education initiative funded by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Türkiye. The project aims to enhance disaster preparedness among young individuals with disabilities living in earthquake-affected areas—specifically Diyarbakır and Şanlıurfa.
During times of crisis, individuals with disabilities face disproportionately greater risks. This project focuses on building resilience, raising awareness, and providing accessible training materials tailored to the specific needs of various disability groups—including those with hearing, visual, physical, intellectual, or psychosocial impairments.
Through hands-on training, interactive workshops, and accessible resources (such as Braille guides, sign language videos, and audio-based instructions), participants will improve both their evacuation skills and psychological readiness in disaster situations.
Key Actions:
• Accessible disaster preparedness education for 30 young individuals with disabilities
• Development of inclusive learning materials in 5 accessible formats
• Capacity-building for 5 young educators
• Awareness campaigns aimed at the broader public
